Solihull Council has now adopted the Travel Plan Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) following its approval at the CPH Climate Change, Planning & Housing Decision Session on Thursday 15 December 2022.

The SPD provides detailed guidance for developers on what they must do as part of their development proposals to promote travel demand management. A Travel Plan is a package of measures or agreed outcomes that developers could be asked to develop in order to reduce the reliance on the private car and maximise the opportunities for sustainable travel (cycling, walking, using public transport etc).

The SPD replaces guidance on Travel Plans contained within the 2006 SPD “Vehicle Parking Standards and Green Travel Plans”.
