In July 2017 the Council undertook a specific and targeted brownfield land Call for Sites exercise. In addition to utilizing existing sources of information, this sought to ensure that the Council has as full a picture as possible of the brownfield land sites in the borough.

The 56 sites that were submitted were assessed alongside sites that have been promoted as part of the wider Local Plan Review process, and we have identified those we consider suitable for inclusion on Part 1 of the Brownfield Land Register (BLR).

It is important to seek views on potential sites to allow public and stakeholder scrutiny. The BLR will constitute an additional part of the Local Plan evidence base and will help to inform the current Local Plan Review, it is also important that the public and other stakeholders are given the opportunity to engage and comment.

We are now consulting on the sites proposed to be included on Part 1 of the Brownfield Register. We are keen to ensure that only appropriate sites are included on the register, and that all possible suitable sites have been included. This means we want to know if you think a site has been incorrectly included, or if an excluded site should be included.

Please read the Draft Brownfield Land Register consultation document before completing the survey here.

The consultation closes on Wednesday 14 February.
