July 2021 Update

As you may be aware, we have a project to replace the Fillongley Bridge deck just north of Meriden. This is the bridge that carries the B4102 Fillongley Road over the A45. I have included you in this circulation as your Parish is either in close proximity to the works area or effected by the wider diversion route.

I have attached the traffic management plans for the wider network where we aim to keep vehicles on a route of the same road category as the one we are closing. I also attach a local diversion route which we have developed to aid the safe passage of local traffic around the works area. These plans have been developed in consultation with the Meriden Ward members and Parish Council members and will be constantly reviewed as the project progresses.

Enabling works will be starting soon in advance of the scheme and I wanted to share this with you as I appreciate some interest may be piqued through the presence of construction work in the area. The enabling work activities which will take place on the following dates:

  • Works compound construction: 26th July 2021
  • Vegetation clearance: 2nd August 2021

Utility diversions:

  • A45 directional drilling: 9th August 2021
  • Severn Trent Water: 16th August 2021
  • BT Openreach: 23rd August 2021

The date for the closure of the B4102 and any public rights of way in the vicinity is currently planned for November 2021 and will run until August 2022. This will be when the diversions as attached will be implemented on the network.

We also have a dedicated email address which is monitored by us and our communications team of fillongleybridge@solihull.gov.uk.
