We previously notified you about lane closures in the Interchange area to create new drainage and pedestrian footpaths on and around Northway Island. You can read our previous post here. This is an ongoing programme of works, which commenced in March. When our preparation works are complete, we will improve and expand sections of the existing road network in the area, and construct new routes on HS2 land, which will connect to four new highway bridges. These road improvements will ensure that when the future HS2 Interchange Station is operational, the local road network is fit for purpose.
Varying single lane closures were originally scheduled to remain in place until Friday 26 June on and around Northway Island including the B4438 and Northway. These works will now been extended to Monday 6 July. Our working hours will continue to be 7am to 6pm, but some traffic measures will remain in place 24-hours. We will work Monday to Friday, however we may extend our works into the weekend if required.
Temporary traffic lights will be used intermittently until Monday 6 July on the A452.
Key:
Throughout our works, varying lanes will be closed along the highlighted routes for varying durations of time to avoid overburdening the network. You will still be able to travel along all routes in both directions.
This schedule is subject to change depending on site and weather conditions, and evolving measures to combat coronavirus. We’ll keep you informed of any adjustments at: www.hs2insolihull.co.uk
