Just a note to say what a great success yesterday, 10th September, was. Unfortunately no volunteers from Meriden except the Clerk, but what a wonderful team of volunteers from National Grid supported by Bruce Brant and Chris, Tom and Adam, SMBC Park Rangers. Please note the new planting around culvert and Berkswell Road, painting of seats and noticeboard, tree bark to banking and general tidy up. Spring bulbs and wildflower seeds were also planted to start our wildflower meadow to the left hand corner of the Pool. Please also note the new plants to the old public convenience site and general tidy up of tree debris.

The team worked really hard for the afternoon and the area is now looking a lot more inviting to the community. The group; painted outdoor furniture, created a woodchip duck feeding area, planted bulbs and plants, gave the area a general tidy up and even found a resident lobster in the pond!

A huge thank you to National Grid Volunteer Team, Bruce Brant and Kath Hemmings for their support, and Bruce’s organisation of the day! We all look forward to Phase 2 once we have secured funding for dipping platform and pathway.
