Some exciting news about a new pilot public transport service we have launched in South West Coventry in partnership with the University of Warwick but also purposely covering Meriden.  The service is called ‘West Midlands On-Demand’ and operates in a very similar way to the shuttle bus we have specifically for your area and Ring & Ride albeit bookings are predominantly made via an App, telephone support is also available.    The service operates 0700 to 1900 Monday to Friday and is available to all residents providing they are making journeys within the defined area of operation.   As with the shuttle service the buses are fully accessible and all drivers trained in giving support to those less mobile to access the bus.  Unlike the shuttle bus the service does not operate door to door but gives a specific pick up and drop off point close to the customers home, in most cases this location will be closer than their nearest bus stop.  The service is free of charge until 21st May after which charges are similar to local bus services although, similar to R&R, concessionary bus passes can’t be used.

We would really appreciate any help you can offer in spreading the news of this service and encouraging use, do you have a local newsletter and / or noticeboard where we could provide an article or advert??

Given this is a pilot we would very much welcome feedback as we go through the next 18 to 24 months.
