Notice of overnight closure of A452 northbound slip road
BBV have been significantly reconfiguring the Junction of the A446 Stonebridge Road and A452 Chester Road near Birmingham Business Park. The new bridge over the M42 is already taking some vehicular traffic using a temporary lane configuration. As we prepare for its permanent and intended configuration some remedial work is required such as removal temporary safety barriers parapet work, surface works and additional electrical and drainage work. To minimise any disruption the work will only take place at night and a full diversion via junction 4 of the M6 will be in place. The work will take place on overnight from 3 March until 6 March closing at 9pm at night and reopening at 5am the following morning.

BBV have been significantly reconfiguring the junction of the A446 Stonebridge Road and A452 Chester Road near Birmingham Business Park. The new bridge over the A446 that carries the southbound slip road is already open to vehicular traffic, however as we move to completion some extra work is needed to create a pedestrian footway and some new laybys. To do this safely we will need to close the road at night between 6 March and 18 March from 9pm at night until 6am the following morning. Between 9-12 March we will not close the road until 10pm to minimise the disruption during the Crufts dog show at the NEC. A fully signed diversion will be in place.

HS2 will deliver one of the most environmentally responsible infrastructure projects in the UK, to help achieve this, Balfour Beatty Vinci (BBV) has been constructing and installing an internal haul road as part of our works. The haul road lets us take lorries off Kenilworth Road on to our site, reducing the number of large vehicles on local roads.
Following the completion of the parking bays, we will be starting further works to create a new entrance to this haul road. This will be at the southern end of the Hallmeadow Road at the roundabout with Station Road and will allow for deliveries to south of the West Coast Mainline. In order to do this, a number of utilities that are in the existing verge will need to be diverted requiring traffic management on the roundabout.
Temporary traffic lights will be installed on 6 March and will be in operation all day every day until the new haul road in in operation in the summer. Please note that although the traffic lights will be in operation all day and all night the work will be limited to our core working hours. 8am until 6pm Monday to Friday, 8am until 1pm on Saturdays and not at all on Sundays and Bank holidays. If these dates change, we will send you a further update.
